Introduction

Hong Kong Chinese Elite Association is about to organise the 2026 AI Chinese Picture Book Creation and AI Image Generation Challenge for primary and secondary students in Hong Kong. This competition is sponsored by the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR). We aim at encouraging students to take on this innovative challenge, unleash their creativity in storytelling, and make good use of AI technology to bring vivid visual images to their creative stories. Students will not only showcase their writing and innovative talents but also enhance their practical language application skills through new technology. We welcome students to participate in this competition, sharing the joy of integrating learning with innovative technology, and working together to explore the infinite possibilities of AI and language learning.

Main Theme：A Flight of Fancy

Theme for Lower Primary Group (Grades 1-3): Magic

Theme for Upper Primary Group (Grades 4-6): Adventures

Theme for Secondary Group (Grades 7-12): Future

 ***Participants can create their own titles based on the themes of their respective groups.***

AI Image Software:
Any AI image generation software, such as Midjourney, Canva, Wenxin Yiyuan, etc. These applications are for reference only; children under 13 must use them properly under adult supervision and guidance.

Awards

Awards will be given in gold, silver, bronze, and merit categories for different groups. Additionally, there will be awards for Outstanding Guiding Teachers and Active Participation Schools.

Judges 

 Renowned writers and experienced teachers will be invited to jointly evaluate the works.
